Unlock Your Restricted Phone: Cricket Wireless

To unlock your phone from your current provider, there are a few requirements you need to meet. Please review the following guidelines.

The requirements for unlocking your phone with Cricket Wireless are as follows:

  1. The device you want to unlock must have been active for at least six months of paid service.
  2. The device must be designed for use on and locked to Cricket’s network.
  3. The device must not be reported lost or stolen.
  4. The device must not be associated with a fraudulent account.

The instructions for unlocking your phone online through My Account are as follows:

  1. Sign in to your My Account.
  2. Go to Account Settings and select “Get Code.”
  3. Scroll down to locate the number of the phone you want to unlock.
  4. Select “Request Unlock.”
  5. The unlock code will be displayed on the screen and sent to your phone via text message if eligible.

 

If you have your unlock code, follow these steps to unlock your phone:

For iPhones:

  1. For assistance with unlocking your iPhone for use with a different carrier, visit Apple Support and follow their instructions on how to unlock your iPhone.

 

For all other phones (excluding iPhones):

  1. Turn off your phone.
  2. Remove your current SIM card and replace it with a SIM card from a different carrier.
  3. Turn on your phone.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts and enter the unlock code provided by Cricket Wireless.
  5. Restart your phone to complete the unlock process.

 

How to unlock your phone using the myCricket app (for some Android phones):

  1. Open the myCricket app on your phone.
  2. If you’re already signed in, sign out of the app.
  3. On the app’s sign-in screen, tap on “Unlock Device.”
  4. Tap “Unlock” at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Once your phone is successfully unlocked, restart it to complete the process.

Please note that not all Android phones require the myCricket app for unlocking. If you encountered an error while trying to unlock your phone through the My Account portal, follow the steps above to unlock your phone using the myCricket app.
