Unlock Your Restricted Phone: Metro by T-Mobile

The specific instructions vary depending on the device

 

For newer Samsung devices (2019 or newer):

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Connections.
  3. Choose More Connection Settings.
  4. Select Network Unlock.
  5. Choose Permanent Unlock.

 

For other Android devices:

  1. Use the Device Unlock app or Unlock app pre-installed on your device.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    • If you do not have the app, your device is already unlocked or it is on a 2019 or newer operating system.

 

For Apple devices:

  1. Verify that your device is eligible to be unlocked.
  2. Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
  3. Insert a non-T-Mobile SIM card.
  4. Complete the first-time use or sign into your Apple ID.
    • If no SIM card is available or you don’t get the setup prompt, you can back up your iPhone, erase it, and restore it from the backup.
