Troubleshooting

Follow These Steps Before Scanning Your QR Code:

Double-check that your phone supports eSIM. If your phone has an EID number, your phone is eSIM compatible. To check go to Settings and tap About. You can also dial *#06# to check your EID number.

Unlocked phones are not tied to a specific carrier’s network which means they can work with more than one service provider. If you brought your own phone to Q Link Wireless, make sure it’s carrier unlocked.

For iPhones

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select General
  3. Tap About
  4. Scroll down and locate Carrier Lock
  • – If it shows NO SIM restrictions, your iPhone is unlocked.
  • – If it shows SIM locked, your iPhone is locked.
  •
  •
  • For Androids
  • Since there are many types of Android devices, check out our unlocking guide.

If your physical SIM is not being used for an active phone number, remove it from your phone before installing your new eSIM.

If you currently have an eSIM installed that will no longer be used for an active phone number, delete the eSIM before installing your new one.

  • Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and is charged or plugged in during the activation process.

Make sure your phone is running on the most up-to-date operating system to avoid any software-related issues.

Before scanning the QR code or installing the eSIM manually, remember the golden rule, turn your phone off and on.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Go into Settings
  2. Select Cellular
  3. Scroll down and click on the phone number you’re activating.
  4. Make sure that “Turn on This Line” is toggled on.
  •

If it’s still not working, reset the network setting, reconnect to your Wi-Fi, and try again.

If you get an error message on your iPhone that says the “activation server is temporarily unavailable” or “cannot be reached” when trying to activate, wait a few minutes, then repeat the previous steps.

Check Coverage: To successfully activate your eSIM you must be in an area with available coverage.

  • Code no longer valid Error

    • When you see the error “code is no longer valid” it usually means the eSIM was already used. If you’re trying to install your eSIM on a new phone or reinstall it on the same phone, you need to get a replacement eSIM first.
    •

    SIM not supported Error

    • Restart your phone and try again, if the error happens again your phone is likely locked to a different service provider.

If scanning the code still fails or you do not have another device to display the QR code on, manually install your eSIM.

  1. Connect the phone, on which you plan to install your eSIM, to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Find your eSIM information in the Member’s area under “My Lines” or through your email.
  3. Select your operating system, either Android or iPhone then follow the steps to “Install eSIM Manually”.
  4. You’ll need the SM-DP+ address and activation code located under the QR code. If your phone also asks for a confirmation code, leave this field blank.
